Welcome to MINDFUL MINDS Psychology

"You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending".

About

               About

Mindful Minds Psychology was created with the intention of providing individuals with quality mental health support, in an environment that is safe and healing. What does it mean to have a mindful mind?

A Mindful Mind means to have the ability to maintain a moment to moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, body sensations, and surrounding environment, through an objective lens. When we are being mindful, we are in tune with the current moment, as opposed to rehearsing the past, or imagining the future. This concept is interwoven throughout my therapeutic approach, and the clinic space itself. Mindful Minds is based upon the three principles of compassion, respect, and connection.

Mindful Minds is a progressive psychological practice that works with adolescents and adults with various presentations. We are located in the northern Brisbane suburb of Albany Creek, within the Fifth Avenue Lifestyle Centre, and use the most current and evidenced-based psychological treatment approaches. Our approach is centred around recognising the individuality of each client, and practicing from a place of transparency, compassion, acceptance, and flexibility. Our practice is dedicated to providing you with an open and safe space to work through your concerns and create a life that is meaningful to you. We look forward to welcoming you to our clinic.

My Therapeutic Approach

As a Psychologist, I aim to provide my clients with an environment that fosters safety, empathy and collaboration. My therapeutic style is compassionate, warm, and down to earth. I place great importance on the therapeutic relationship, to ensure that we work together  throughout the process towards your therapeutic goals.

I have extensive experience working with complex psychopathology across the lifespan in forensic, government, and private settings. I am experienced in working with a range of complex clinical presentations, such as trauma, mood-based disorders, psychosis, personality disorders, and self-injury. My therapeutic approach is an integrative form of psychotherapy, using the most current evidenced-based techniques. My practice is based off of the core belief that each individual has the inherent capacity to not only overcome adversity, but to also live a meaningful and fulfilling life.

The therapeutic approach I take involves a balance of psychotherapy with an integration of specific techniques. My work is based on the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and the three-phased approach to the treatment of trauma. Throughout our work together, I aim to assist you in developing a stronger sense of self, improve your wellbeing, develop more adaptive coping mechanisms, and re-connect you with what matters most to you.

I look forward to working with you here at Mindful Minds Psychology, and welcoming you to our space.
